Low Rise looks that will make us reconsider

Fashion always makes its revolution from situations that happen and affect humanity, we saw this in the previous issue with the reference to the color green.

I was particularly impressed by the MiuMiu movement with the excessively short skirts and crop tops, reminiscent of the 00s and pop music girls like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, who had deified such tiny pieces, leaving most parts of the body uncovered.

Is this a not-so-flattering trend that is here to stay or is it a connection to the ongoing wars?

Taking a look back at the 40s, connected to the Second World War, fashion adheres to the gray feeling of those days; high necklines and smaller clothes aim to save fabric.

During this period, women are integrated into the workplace. On the other hand, we see  MiuMiu’s show, reminding us that it’s time to go back to work. It redefined the office look at Paris Fashion Week with well-ironed shirts, knitted sweaters, strict pleats, reminiscent of a private school uniform and… a low waist!

So, do you think that the fashion emerging after the war changes carries over the feminist movements of the 40s mentioned above, the 60s with the youth rebelling against the establishment by showing more skin? At the end of the third wave of feminism of the 90s that was expressed in terms of clothing with the dominance of unisex clothes.

Perhaps it is a series of opinions of Miuccia Prada, chief designer of Prada and founder of its subsidiary MiuMiu. The importance of sustainability and inclusivity should concern us all..“Clothes are part of life, not the meaning of life”, she has stated herself.

Or maybe in the future we will see low-rise looks that will make us reconsider.

Whatever the case may be, don’t forget to color your days with style!
